GMG Airlines Flight Tickets

The airline was based in Bangladesh and was founded in 1997and began operating on 6, April 1997. Its functioning has been temporarily ceases from 28 March, 2012 and is expected to commence its operations, later in this year. The temporary halt in the airlines functioning is because of their requirement of re-fleeting. It had it’s headquarter in Nikunja-2, Dhaka. The airline was serving as one of the largest private airlines in the countries and focused on security, reasonable price and comfortable flights.

GMG Airlines while it was functional had two hubs, its primary hub was Shahjalal International Airport and its secondary hub was Shah Amanat International Airport. GMG Airlines flights started going to domestic destinations in 1997.It was in 2004, that it operated its first international flight from Chittagong to Kolkata. In 2006, it started flights to Bangkok, Delhi and Kathmandu. Then they expanded their operations to the Middle East and covered Dubai, Jeddah and Riyadh by 2010.They also covered international destinations like Abu Dhabi and Karachi. In 2012 they covered the following destinations:

• Kolkata –Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport
• Cox’s Bazar Airport
• Dhaka –Shahjalal International Airport
• Chittagong –Shah Amanat International Airport

GMG Airlines received several awards on both domestic and International level. In 2009 it won the Best Domestic Airline of the Year Award. The fleet of the airline, while it was operating consisted of Mc Donnell Douglas MD-82,Mc Donnell Douglas MD-83,Bombardier Dash 8 100 and Bombardier Dash 8 300.Despite all these in its fleet, at the time it put its operations on hold ,only the Das-8 were functional.

The airline operated as a low cost airline and offered its passengers commendable services. Passengers could choose their seating arrangement according to some difference in the fare and services. Economy class passengers could carry check-luggage which weighed a maximum of 20 kg and those who were traveling in the executive class had the advantage of being able to carry check –in luggage which weighed up to 30kg. Passengers who had GMG Airlines tickets were also allowed to carry hand baggage as long as it could under the seat or in the over head cabin.
