Icelandair is the national carrier of Iceland. It was founded in 1937 and initially operated under the name of ‘Flugfélag Akureyrar’. It was only several years later that the airline adopted the name of ‘Icelandair’ to conduct its international operations. The airline is presently headquartered in Reykjavik. Icelandair conducts flight operations to many domestic and international destinations from its primary hub at Keflavík International Airport. The airline has grown over the last several decades and has expanded its network extensively. Currently, Icelandair is serving 24 European cities and 12 destinations in North America.
