Silver Airways Flight Tickets

Silver Airways is a Florida-based regional low-cost carrier with its headquarters at Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport. The airline also has a maintenance facility at Gainesville Regional Airport.

The airline initially started operations under the name of Gulfstream International Airlines in October 1988. The first flight started operating from December 1, 1990. The airline during its earlier days functioned as an on-demand air taxi, transporting passengers between Miami and Haiti. However, the airline in its new incarnation started operating as Silver Airways from May 11, 2011 after the assets of Gulfstream International Airlines was acquired by a Chicago-based investment firm Victory Park Capital after filing for bankruptcy.

Travel Classes:
Silver Airways presently owns a fleet of over 34-seat 25 Saab 340Bplus aircrafts. The aircrafts being currently operated by the airline are among the highly advanced turboprop aircraft-type, and is the largest Saab fleet in North America today. Apart from this, Silver Airways also has many Beechcraft 1900D aircrafts, which have the capacity to seat a total of 19 passengers. These aircrafts are currently serving the routes in the airline’s Cleveland-based network. All the aircrafts of the airline offer single class of travel.

Destinations Covered:
Silver Airways presently operates about 170 flights daily from Florida to various destinations in the Bahamas, West Virginia, Washington D.C., Alabama, Mississippi, Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio and Georgia. Silver Airways is the largest carrier in the United States to operate more daily flights to the Bahamas than any other carriers in the country. The airline is also providing flights services on 6 Essential Air Service (EAS) routes from Cleveland to small communities in West Virginia, Pennsylvania and New York. The airline is operating additional EAS routes from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and Washington-Dulles International Airport since 2012.
