Spain is an exotic country in the whole of Europe. This diverse country has the second-largest number of UNESCO-approved World Heritage Sites after Italy. Spain also has the largest number of World Heritage Cities than any other country in Europe. Millions of people from around the world make this beautiful country their most sought-after destination because of its cuisine, world-famous folklore and festivities, and a vibrant nightlife.

Spain’s many cities hold great attractions for the visitors. Our Spain Travel Guide will be of great help in seeing some of the famous attractions in the country. Spain’s capital city Madrid is all set to regale you with its interesting places like Museo del Prado, and Reina Sofía. The city of Barcelona is also interesting to visit where you will get to see the famous Picasso Museum, Salvador Dalí Museum. It also has many archaeological sites including Italica, Segobriga (Cabeza del Griego), Tarragona, Calatrava la Nueva, Viera Dolmens, La Menga, Antequetera and Ampurias. Picasso Museum is the place for art lovers and especially the ones who are in love with Pablo Picasso’s work. This museum is flocked by hundreds of tourists each year. It houses some of the most intriguing and extensive art works of the legendary 20th century artist. There are about 3,500 of the great Spanish painter’s work on display here. Established while Picasso was still alive, this museum was opened to public in the year 1963.

The best time to visit Spain is during the months of May, June, September and October. The peak tourist season is between end of March and early October. However, travelers can visit the cultural and historical cities in the country as and when they please. The country disappoints none and has a lot to offer to the outsiders.

The Spanish people are known to be passionate about their food, wine and traditional cuisine. The many restaurants spread across the country can also be seen serving Italian, Chinese, and American cuisines, apart from Spanish food. In Spain, there’s a peculiarity about some restaurants. If you come across restaurants with the words Gallego (Galician), these usually specialize in seafood. However, Arola, Dos Palillos, and Can Vallès are popular restaurants in Barcelona. Likewise, Zalacain, Viridiana, and Indice Restaurant at AC Palacio Del Retiro are famous names in Madrid.

The main airports in Spain are Madrid-Barajas, Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, and Malaga. Airlines like Norwegian, Iberia, British Airlines, Turkish Airlines, SAS, and Aeroflot offer cheap flights between New York and Malaga. Travelers can book business class flights between San Francisco and Madrid with Iberia, SAS, Swiss, Lufthansa, Air Canada, Brussels Airlines, Finnair, and KLM. Its vast air network connects it to the rest of the world and offers smooth connections between other destinations and the country.

Many types of accommodation options are available all across Spain. You will be able to find cheap hotels in Spain in major cities like Madrid, Barcelona, Leon, and Valencia in the country. Budget tourists mostly prefer to stay in small tourist-friendly inland villages like Alquezar. However, the city even caters to the travelers who are not budget conscious and wish to book mid range or luxury hotels.
