Florida theme parks set to see more action this year

The theme parks in Florida are set to see even more action this year. For Florida’s theme parks, 2014 is going to prove to be a big year. At least two entertainment areas are currently being refurbished. The “lands” opening are also being revamped and several new rides will be added to enhance the thrill of the visitors.

Florida’s most popular theme park Universal Orlando is ready to sway its visitors this summer. A new Harry Potter attraction will regale those visiting here. Yet another famous theme park Disney World will soon be completing the expansion of its Fantasyland. The completion is already in its last leg. For those visiting in spring, a new thrill ride at the Busch Gardens is ready to welcome the visitors.

Falcon’s Fury will be opened at Tampa Bay’s Busch Gardens on May 1. This 335-foot drop tower will see riders plunging face-down at speeds of up to 60mph. The former Timbuktu has been remodeled for the ride as the land of Pantopia. There will be new eateries and shops here.

Disney World will also be opening the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train roller coaster in May this year at its expanded Fantasyland. Ihu’s Breakaway Falls, a new slide, is also being opened at SeaWorldOrlando’s water park Aquatica on May 9.

The Duplo Village at Legoland has also been revamped. This renovated toddler area will be reopened in late May this year. The new farm-themed Duplo Valley will now feature a splash-and-water-play area, an indoor play area and a new train ride.

This year, Florida’s various theme parks have already seen plenty of action. The new Festival of Fantasy Parade made its debut in March at the Magic Kingdom. The festival is essentially a tribute to the characters and stories of Fantasyland. The prominent highlights of the Festival of Fantasy Parade include Maleficent, a 25-foot-tall steampunk dragon breathing fire (from Sleeping Beauty); clamshell-waving Ariel; and Belle and the Beast dancing.
