Philippines Airlines to launch service to London post hiatus

Philippines Airlines is set to resume service to London once again. The airline, which was banned in Europe, was given a green signal by the European Union to re-launch flights to destinations in the continent. It will commence its London service beginning November 4, 2013.

The airline is happy to start its Manila-London Heathrow service four months after the lifting of the ban. Passengers can travel on Philippines Airlines tickets between the two cities from November onwards. The flagship carrier will operate five weekly flights between these cities on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

The airline will use the services of Boeing 777-300 ERs on this route. These planes will have a seating capacity for business class and economy class passengers. Interestingly, the airline has not operated a direct flight to Heathrow since 1998.

The airline is happy to commence service to the continent and particularly to the thriving London city. It expects to connect the two cities at an average of 13 hours. It aims to achieve the target of offering quickest connections and a convenient mode of travel between the two capital cities.

It operates out of its hub at Ninoy Aquino International Airport and Mactan-Cebu International Airport.
