Aer Lingus introduces new Birmingham-Knock route

Aer Lingus flights will now be operated from Birmingham to Ireland. The airline in a statement said that the new daily return flights from Birmingham to Knock will be operated by Aer Lingus Regional starting from June 11, 2012.

Aer Lingus Regional is operated by Aer Arann. Sean Brogan, Interim Chief Executive of Aer Arann, said that it is a matter of great delight that Birmingham-Knock route has been added to the airline’s network. He said that the airline hopes that there will be a strong demand from both business and leisure travelers for direct, convenient and cost effective access from the West of Ireland to Great Britain’s second largest city.

Stephen Kavanagh, Chief Commercial Officer of Aer Lingus, welcomed the launch of the new route and exclaimed that the addition of this new service demonstrates the continued success of the Aer Lingus Regional franchise.

The airline has already put air tickets on sale for flights from Birmingham to Ireland West Airport Knock starting from $47.09 (29.99 pounds) one-way including taxes.
