Aer Lingus passenger traffic increases by 11 percent in August

Aer Lingus recently announced its operational results for the month of August 2012 and sounded upbeat at the outcome.

The airline in a statement said that Aer Lingus flights put up a good performance helping the company to boost its revenue. The airline said that its passenger traffic has gone up considerably last month.

According to the airline, there was a growth in passengers booking Aer Lingus flights tickets. The airline stated that its passenger traffic showed a significant increase in August this year. The airline’s passenger traffic was up 11 percent.

The airline stated that the total number of passengers flown in August was 1,116,000. However, the total number of passengers carried by Aer Lingus in July this year was 1,004,000. This also includes Aer Lingus regional operations.

The airline further disclosed that the total number of passengers carried by Aer Lingus mainline slightly decreased in August 2012 as compared to the same month last year. There was a slight decrease on 1.2 percent in short-haul flights bookings. However, this was offset by a 7.3 percent increase in long-haul Aer Lingus flights.
