Aeromexico announces February 2012 result, traffic up 11 percent

Mexico’s flag carrier Aeromexico recently announced the operational results for February 2012. The largest intercontinental airline in Mexico sounded upbeat over the outcome.

Aeromexico flights ferried a significant number of passengers in February and made big revenues for the company Grupo Aeromexico S.A.B de C.V.

Aeromexico in a statement said that the airline transported 197,000 passengers in February this year, and reported an increase of 11 percent y-o-y as compared to February 2011.

The airline stated that this resulted from a 15 percent increase in international passenger traffic and a 10 percent increase in domestic passenger traffic.

The airline revealed that during the first two months of the year, there was 11 percent more passenger traffic than in the same months in 2011, with a 19 percent increase in international passenger traffic and an 8 percent increase in domestic traffic.

Aeromexico further stated that its capacity (Available Seat Kilometers) increased 7 percent y-o-y in February, and demand (Revenue Passenger Kilometers) grew 10 percent.
