Aeromexico to enter shuttle markets, to launch three routes

Aeromexico, the largest carrier of Mexico intends to expand its presence within the domestic market and plans to introduce shuttle service to three key business markets in the country. The flagship carrier plans to launch hourly service from Mexico City to Monterrey, and Guadalajara. It is also keen to commence service between Monterrey and Guadalajara.

The airline is set to launch hourly service to these cities with 16 every day flights from Mexico City to Monterrey, and Guadalajara. It will also fly seven times daily between Monterrey and Guadalajara. It intends to deploy aircrafts that will consist of a seating capacity across two classes on these sectors. It is set to improve the amenities and services offered onboard to enhance the overall passenger experience throughout the journey.

The airline is facing tough competition from its rival airlines in the domestic sectors. Its rivals are already operating shuttle service to these three cities hence forcing it to arrive at this decision. The airline in a bid to expand globally has neglected these sectors in the last few years. Hence, it aims to establish its strong foothold on these markets once again with these services. As per the reports, a total of 28,000 seats are available from Mexico City to Guadalajara, thus making it one of the primary sectors within the country. Shuttle markets are gaining prominence within then country and are paving way for stiff competition. As a prominent airline of the country, it makes sense for the airline to keep competition at bay by launching service on these sectors.
