AirAsia becomes latest airline to ban babies on certain sections of aircraft

Now, babies have been banned from flying in certain sections of AirAsia flights. Malaysia-based budget carrier AirAsia is the latest airline to take the decision of banning babies from some sections of its planes.

The airline recently announced that it has unveiled a new booking system in which passengers booking AirAsia flights tickets will not be allowed to reserve their seats in the first seven rows of its economy class section while traveling with babies.

The airline has created the first seven rows of its economy class section as a “quiet zone” under its new booking system.

The airline stated that the first seven rows on its long-haul arm AirAsia X flights would be restricted to passengers 12 and above. The airline will be implementing its decision from February 2013.
 
Earlier, AirAsia’s rival Malaysia Airlines had sparked a debate in June last year with its decision to ban parents with infants from traveling in first class cabins in its Airbus A380 aircrafts.
