Air Canada announces 2012 March Load Factor results

Air Canada recently announced the load factor results for the month of March 2012. The airline has expressed happiness at the latest outcome.
Air Canada provided details and reported a system load factor of 81.5 percent this March as compared to 79.5 percent during the same month in 2011. This was an increase of 2.0 percentage points.

The airline further revealed that its system traffic increased 4.8 percent on a system-wide capacity increase of 2.2 percent. The traffic results on a system-wide basis reported by the airline, includes regional airlines from which it purchases capacity.

Calin Rovinescu, President and Chief Executive Officer, said that the airline succeeded in generating greater traffic in all markets it currently serves, apparently led by an increase in traffic in the Atlantic market of 10.2 percent.

Air Canada flights currently serve more than 180 destinations on five continents. The airline provides scheduled flights directly to 60 Canadian cities, 57 destinations in the United States and 63 cities in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Australia, the Caribbean, Mexico and South America. In 2011, the airline served more than 33 million passengers.
