Air Canada happy at provincial aviation fuel tax waiving

Air Canada has expressed its happiness over the recent decision of the British Columbia government to completely waive the provincial aviation fuel tax for international flights.

Ben Smith, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of Air Canada, in a statement has applauded the British Columbia government for taking prompt steps in eliminating the provincial aviation fuel tax on Air Canada flights on international routes.

Smith also thanked the Vancouver Airport Authority for taking effective steps to hold in line landing and terminal fees until 2015. He said that such initiatives are laudable as they help contribute to the competitiveness of the Canadian aviation landscape in the global marketplace.

Air Canada is currently operating daily nonstop flights to Hong Kong, Beijing, London Heathrow, Shanghai, Mexico City, Tokyo Narita, Sydney and Seoul from Vancouver offering attractive flight deals and cheap air tickets to its passengers.

Canada’s flag carrier Air Canada is providing scheduled flights directly to 60 Canadian cities, 57 US destinations and 63 cities in Latin America, Europe, Asia, Middle East, Mexico, the Caribbean and Australia.
