Air Canada posts a record 82.9 percent passenger traffic this October

Canada’s national flag carrier Air Canada recently announced its operational results for the month of October this year and was quite elated at the outcome.

The bookings of Air Canada flights tickets showed a remarkable sale this October. The airline in a statement said that Air Canada flights ran to a near full capacity during the month.

The Montreal-based carrier, which is the biggest in the country, said that its load factor (percentage of available seats filled with paying customers) in October 2012 increased to a record 82.9 percent or 3.5 percentage points.

While announcing its quarterly financial results, Air Canada reported that its passenger traffic grew 4.9 percent as capacity increased just 0.4 percent.

The airline in a statement said that its year-to-date load factor has significantly improved from 82.1 percent to 83.2 percent during the same period last year. The airline further stated that the passenger traffic increased 2.4 percent, while the capacity is 1.1 percent higher.
