Air China four weekly direct rotations between Beijing-Phuket from Nov 18

Air China recently announced that it will be introducing 4 weekly direct rotations between Beijing and Phuket from November 18, 2011.

Phuket is an island in Thailand which is thronged by tourists round the year from different parts of the world. It is widely acclaimed for its beauty and is seen as a gem on the Andaman Sea in the Indian Ocean. Phuket is mostly visited by tourists in winter months, from November to April.

China’s flag carrier Air China operates flights on 69 international, 193 domestic and 14 regional routes connecting 137 cities in 30 countries and regions across the world.

In another development, Air China recently announced that it has joined as a member of Sustainable Aviation Fuel Users Group (SAFUG). It is the first airline in China to join SAFUG and will be supporting along with other members the commercial use of lower carbon renewable fuels. The aim of SAFUG is to achieve carbon-neutral growth industry-wide. By virtue of being a member of SAFUG, Air China will share its aviation biofuel flight test experience as well as take part in the study on aviation biofuel.

Air China had in the recent years been consistently pursuing the agenda of sustainable development and has always considered environmental protection as a vital part of social responsibility. Air China is also planning to launch its first biofuel flight in China by the end of this year and has been jointly working with UOP, Petro China, Boeing and other key stakeholders.
