Air China into codeshare pact with South African Airways

Air China recently announced that it has entered into a codeshare agreement with South African Airways.

The airline in a statement said that the codeshare agreement will complement South African Airways newly-launched nonstop service between Johannesburg and Beijing.

The passengers of both the carriers will be able to avail various travel options from Africa as well as China through seamless connections and frequent flyer opportunities.

Both the airlines will now introduce codeshare services on Johannesburg-to-Beijing-to-Johannesburg main route, which was launched by South African Airways on January 31, 2012.

The agreement will also allow Air China flights to put South African Airways code on it, while Air China will be able to put its code on South African Airways.

This codeshare agreement will further boost prospects between the two countries and play a strategic role in increasing tourism, trade and other economic ties.
