Air China Introduces Direct Flights from Beijing to Washington

Air China recently announced the launch of direct flights between Beijing and Washington D.C. Flights on this route will be operational from June 10, 2014.

The Beijing-Washington non-stop flight will be operated using Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft. This aircraft will have three classes and has the carrying capacity of 311 passengers. Flights will leave Beijing at 1300 hours and arrive in Washington at 1435 hours. Return flight will depart at 1635 hours and arrive in Beijing Capital International Airport at 1815 hours the next day. Flights on this route will fly on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

Boeing 777-300 aircraft will be fitted with 261 seats in economy, 42 lie-flat seats in business class and eight lie-flat seats in First-class. Business class seats will have 23 inches of width and 60 inches of pitch, whereas first class seats will have 23 inches of width and 80 inches and pitch.

By adding nonstop flights on this route, this Star Alliance carrier has ended the ongoing monopoly on United Airlines that was the only carrier to offers direct service between the city pair. At present, even United is offering the service on Boeing 777 on this route.
