Air China launching Shanghai-Chengdu-Mumbai route May 2

Air China recently announced that it will be introducing a new Shanghai-Chengdu-Mumbai route starting from May 2, 2012.

The airline is launching the new route aiming to develop its hub in China’s southwestern city of Chengdu.

With the launch of new route, Mumbai will become the 10th city to be connected by Air China flights from Chengdu. Besides Mumbai, other cities where Air China flight reservations are available from Chengdu include Tokyo, Nagoya, Seoul, Singapore, Bangalore, Kathmandu, Karachi, Taipei China and Hong Kong.

Air China said that it will operate four weekly flights on Shanghai-Chengdu-Mumbai route. The airline will also deploy Airbus A319 to operate flights on the route.

China’s flag carrier Air China is a Star Alliance member and is currently operating flights on 289 routes serving 30 countries around the world. Besides, being a Star Alliance member Air China has a vast network connecting 1,160 destinations in 181 countries.
