Air China planning to launch new carrier with Inner Mongolian government

Air China recently indicated it is planning to launch a new carrier in collaboration with the Inner Mongolian government.

Air China flights continue to operate in Chinese destinations as well as overseas. The airline is now aiming to expand its domestic market share further with the launch of its new airline along with the Inner Mongolian government.

Wang Changshun, Chairman of Air China, said that the airline will be the controlling stakeholder of the new entity, which will be based on the assets of Air China’s branch company in the Inner Mongolian region.
The new airline will be launched only with the approval of the Civil Aviation Administration of China.

China’s three leading carriers – Air China, China Eastern Airlines and China Southern Airlines – have in recent years entered into closer collaborative relationships with local governments.

Air China has so far launched Dalian Airlines and Beijing Airlines with the support of local government.
