Air China to enter into partnership with Swiss carrier VistaJet

China’s national flag carrier Air China recently announced it will be entering into partnership with Swiss business jet operator VistaJet.

The airline in a statement said that VistaJet wants to establish a formal presence in China and wants to carry out operations along with Air China flights.

Swiss business jet operator VistaJet also said that it is undertaking steps and on track to double its fleet size by 2015. It further said that it would be teaming up with Air China in order to meet China’s growing demand for private jet services.

VistaJet would be doubling its fleet size to more than 60 aircraft by 2015 at an estimated $2 billion.

Recently, VistaJet also signed an agreement with Beijing Airlines, the private aviation unit of Air China, under which both the carriers will explore joint marketing and operational opportunities.

Currently, the executive jet market in China remains relatively small, with about 150 private jets at the end of the year. However, with a constant rise in the number of billionaires and multinationals in the country this sector is likely to see a robust growth in future.
