Air France implementing restructuring, cost-cutting plans to improve profitability

In a major turnaround Air France flights are bracing to restore their profitability. Air France group recently announced it would be combining the operations of three of its subsidiary and partner carriers into a single French regional hub. The move of the airline is part of its cost-cutting and restructuring measures.

Air France in a statement said that its regional carriers Brit Air and Regional as well as partner carrier Airlinair would now begin operations under a new brand. The airline revealed that the new brand would be announced in January and the flight operations under the new brand are scheduled to be launched in April 2013.

The airline stated that the number of aircrafts under the restructuring exercise would be reduced by seven and flight crew jobs would be reduced by 64. However, Air France said that it would try to achieve these goals without redundancies.
 
Air France has now brought into effect its Transform 2015 plan and has set the goal of restoring profitability and achieving 20 percent efficiencies under its plans.
