Air France implements new airfares

Air France flights will become costlier now as the airline has increased the airfares.

Air France-KLM recently implemented a new fare region this April, thus putting an extra burden on its customers who will be spending more on their flights than before.

The airline stated that this has been done to accommodate the globally rising jet fuel prices, which has severely impacted the performance of the airline. 

Air France in a statement said that it has decided to raise its fares since April 6, 2012 even as it is struggling to turn over the profit in the current crisis situation because of the cost of continuously high jet fuel prices.

The airline stated that passengers taking long-haul Air France flights will have to pay more between 20 and 100 Euros. Those traveling on medium-haul flights will be paying 10 to 20 Euros more, while short-haul flights passengers will be required to pay from 6 to 15 Euros more, depending on the class of travel.

Air France flights tickets on First and Business Class on long-haul flights to Africa, the Caribbean and Indian Ocean region would cost additional 80 Euros. Those traveling on Alizé, Premium Economy, Economy class cabins would have to pay additional 40 Euros.
