Air France-KLM Refuses Alitalia Bailout Rumors

Air France-KLM has denied all rumors regarding it bailing out the debt struck Alitalia Airlines. In a press conference a company spokesperson informed that the company has never indulged into any kind of bailout conversations with Alitalia. And that they have never pondered upon the idea of purchasing some or all parts of the Alitalia stocks.

Alexandre de Juniac, Air France chief also said that the company has very limited means, which do not under any circumstance allows them to even think of such a buyout. At present Air France-KLM have 25 percent stake in Alitalia.

Alitalia is on the verge of bankruptcy again. Five years ago the airline had faced a similar situation, and was bailed out by Italian State and a pool of Italian Businessmen.
