Air France planning to return to growth

Air France flights operations are all set to be overhauled as the airline is planning to return to growth. The airline has indicated it will take tough measures towards cost cutting to make it more financially viable.

Air France is currently grappling with ever increasing competition and fuel bills. The sale of Air France flights tickets have also not been able to bring in good profits for the airline for the past several years.

The airline has said in a statement that it will be able to make profits only when the number of employees and its short-haul and medium-haul fleet reduced significantly.

Air France stated that it will suspend its loss-making services. The airline is also planning to beef up its Transavia low-cost carrier, even as it overhauls its unprofitable French operations. There are plans as well to add new routes on the airline’s long-haul network to make the company more profitable in the future. Currently, the airline is targeting break-even in 2014.
