Air New Zealand to focus more on North American market

Air New Zealand recently announced that it is now more committed to its flagship Los Angeles-London route.

The airline’s decision has come after the recent axing of Air New Zealand flights services to London through Hong Kong.

The airline in a statement said that it will stop selling Air New Zealand flights tickets on the Hong Kong-London route and would be stopping flights operations on the route in March 2013 after offering six years of services.

Air New Zealand stated that after ending service on London-Hong Kong route it will use spare capacity to boost growth in the North American market. The airline is currently offering direct flights services into the United States across the Pacific.

The airline has decided to focus more on the North American market as it wants to recover from huge losses it had to suffer on the Hong Kong-London route. The airline is estimated to have lost tens of millions of dollars on this route.
