Malaysia Airlines is the flagship carrier of Malaysia. The airline was founded in the year 1947 as Malaysia Airways but launched operations only in 1972. The airline operates out of its hub in Kuala Lumpur International Airport. Its secondary hub is located in Kota Kinabalu International Airport. Its headquarters are based in Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang, Selangor, in Greater Kuala Lumpur. It is a part of the Oneworld alliance and is sponsored by Australian carrier Qantas. At present, the carrier flies to about 61 destinations worldwide. Some of the cities served include Adelaid, Buenos Aires, Vancouver, Beijing, Paris, Cairo, Hong Kong, Rome, Tokyo, Mexico City, Auckland, Manila, Singapore, Zurich, Los Angeles, and New York. Currently its fleet consists of aircrafts from Boeing as well as Airbus. It is also one of the proud Asian airlines to fly the Boeing 787-800 Dreamliner and Airbus A330-300 modern planes.
