The airline commenced service in 1941 and has since has grown manifolds to become one of the largest airlines in the country. The airline holds the distinction of becoming the first and oldest Asian airline to operate under its original name since inception. Its headquarters are located in the Philippine National Bank Financial Center in Pasay City. It operates out of its hubs in Ninoy Aquino International Airport and Mactan-Cebu International Airport. Bangkok, Beijing, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, Riyadh, Vancouver, London, Brisbane, Honolulu, and Melbourne are a few cities served by the airline. The airline has inked codeshare agreements with PAL Express, Cathay Pacific, Emirates, Etihad Airways, Gulf Air, Garuda Indonesia, Korean Air, Malaysia Airlines, Qatar Airways, and Vietnam Airlines. Currently, its fleet consists of planes from Boeing 777-300ER, Boeing 747-400, Airbus A340-300, Airbus A330-300, Airbus A321-200, Airbus A320-200, and Airbus A319-100 series. Its frequent flyer program is called Mabuhay Miles.
