Alaska Airlines, American Airlines to jointly extend more benefits to Elite Frequent Flier Members

Alaska Airlines and American Airlines have decided to jointly provide reciprocal benefits to the frequent flier members of both the airlines. This is also an attempt by the two airlines to strengthen and further expand their long-standing ties.

According to the decision taken by both the airlines, henceforth the members of Alaska Airlines’ Mileage Plan and American Airlines’ AAdvantage Program will mutually be able to enjoy the benefits that have been specifically designed to make their travel experience more pleasurable.   

This new agreement will provide an opportunity to Alaska airlines Mileage Plan MVP, Gold and Gold 75K members to avail American Airlines’ PriorityAAccess benefits, which includes access to exclusive security screening lanes (where available) andpriority check-in and boarding while taking American Airlines flights. Among other privileges include checking two bags free of cost (within current weight and size limitations) and complimentary access to Preferred Plus Seats and Preferred Seats.

Accordingly, American Airlines AAdvantage elite status members will similarly be able to enjoy various benefits, such as priority check-in and boarding and two checked bags free of cost (within current weight and size limitations) while taking Alaska Airlines flights. Besides, AAdvantage Executive Platinum and AAdvantage Platinum members will also be provided access to exclusive security screening lanes (where available) as well as preferred seating on Alaska Airlines.

Frequent flier members of Alaska Airlines and American Airlines are currently earning miles to qualify for elite status while taking the other carriers’ flights.
