Alaska Airlines unveils new Club 49 Benefits program for Alaskans exclusively

Alaska Airlines recently unveiled a new benefits program that would benefit exclusively the residents of the State of Alaska. The new program is named Club 49, and has been designed to provide several benefits to Alaska residents, such as last-minute travel discounts, exclusive emails featuring weekly fare sales, and other special perks, including free checked baggage.

The Club 49 benefits can be exclusively availed by Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan members. The exclusive benefits to be availed by Club 49 members include two free checked bags, two one-way “Travel Now” discounts, and weekly fare sales.

With the two free checked bags benefit, the Club 49 members will be able to save US$80 each way for a family of four checking one bag each. Besides, Alaska Airlines customers traveling within the State of Alaska can continue to check three bags free of cost. The airline will provide Club 49 members every year two one-way certificates valid for 30% off full flex Y base fares. The two one-way “Travel Now” discounts can also be used to buy Alaska Airlines flights tickets within four days before the day of departure for destinations to/from or within Alaska. Exclusive weekly emails informing about new deals on flights within Alaska and beyond will also be provided to Club 49 members.

Those members who have already enrolled for the program on or before October 31, 2011 will start receiving Club 49 benefits with immediate effect. However, the Alaskan resident who will be applying for the program after November 1, 2011 will become eligible for benefits upon successful enrollment.
