Alaska Air launches Portland Dallas/Fort Worth route

Alaska Airlines recently launched flight service between Portland, Oregon and Dallas/Fort Worth. The Seattle based airline launched service on the new route in the wake of high passenger demand. The airline is expanding its reach across the United States and this launch is a part of its broader expansion plan.

It has been offering more Alaska Airlines flights to the passengers and since June 2012 has added eight new routes to its itinerary. The airline is committed to offer nonstop, convenient flying options to travelers. It also aims at seamless connectivity through the whole of North America in partnership with another major carrier American Airlines.

The airline has another pleasant surprise for its customers. It will offer double Mileage Plan miles between Portland and Dallas flights through October 31, 2013. The customers are however, required to register with the airline to stand eligible for this deal.

The airline has since June last year opened service to seven domestic and international destinations. The cities that it now connects to include Atlanta, Reagan National Airport in Washington, D.C., Kauai in Hawaii, Fairbanks, Alaska, Bozeman in Montana, Pasco in Washington, and Santa Barbara in California.

The commercial carrier was established in the year 1932 as McGee Airways. However, post re-branding it was re-named and commenced its service as Alaska Airlines in 1944. At present, it flies to several destinations across the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Hawaii. It operates out of its hub at Seattle–Tacoma International Airport.
