Alitalia allowing free travel for accompanied children between July and November

Parents who have booked Alitalia flights tickets and are traveling along with their kids will be quite happy, at least for a few months.

Italy’s national flag carrier Alitalia recently announced it will be permitting free travel for accompanied children up to 12 years of age on all its domestic and international flights between the months of July and November this year.
 
The airline in a statement said that accompanied children up to 12 years will be allowed to travel free along with their parents on all of its flights, including domestic and international, between July 2 and November 30, 2012, on the condition that Alitalia tickets have been purchased prior to June 25, 2012.

The recent offer is part of Alitalia’s new corporate strategy as well as fare structure on Rome-Milan route, whereupon the airline seeks to engage into stiff competition with the rail services.

According to the airline, the current 44 fare options on Rome-Milan route will now be reduced to 5, offering airfares at fixed prices. The airline wants the pricing structure to be made more transparent and quite simpler than before.
