Alitalia launches first flight between Milan and London City

Italy’s flag carrier Alitalia recently launched its first flight to London City Airport from Milan-Linate. The debut Alitalia flights between London City and Milan-Linate will be operated with the help of new Embraer E-190 aircrafts.

Alitalia said in a statement that it will be operating two flights every day between the two cities. The flights will be operated from Monday through Friday. The airline will also operate only one flight every Sunday.

The airline stated that the Embraer E-190 will offer 100 seats, divided in a line of two armchairs. The aircraft will be configured with two classes – Ottima (Business Class) and Classica (Economy Class).

Alitalia plans to carry about 50,000 passengers on Milan-Linate and London City route in 2012. It also plans to increase the existing two flights to three flights every day in future.

Milan-Linate to London City

First daily flight – Departure: 7.45 am – Arrival: 8.55 am

Second daily flight – Departure: 3.55 pm – Arrival: 5.05 (local hours)

London City to Milan-Linate

First daily flight – Departure: 9.25 am – Arrival: 12.20 (local hour)

Second daily flight – Departure: 5.40 pm – Arrival: 8.40 pm (local hour)
