Allegiant Air suspends twice-weekly direct Wichita-Los Angeles flights

Allegiant Air recently announced it has suspended its direct flights services from Wichita to Los Angeles. The airline attributed the suspension of twice-weekly direct Allegiant Air flights between Wichita and Los Angeles after losing its gate space at Los Angeles.

Jessica Wheeler, Allegiant Air’s spokeswoman, said that the recent decision of the airline should be considered as suspension only and not a cancellation of service.

She said that the airline currently doesn’t have a permanent gate space at Los Angles, and was sharing it with Delta Air Lines.

According to Jessica, Delta Air Lines informed Allegiant Air that the airline would be requiring the gate space for its own flight operations and hence won’t have the same space allocation any longer.

She said that Allegiant Air had been working to sort out the problem with Los Angeles airport authorities and had not been able to find any alternative so far. The airline will, however, continue to carry on with its effort and hopes to find a suitable alternative soon.
