Delta Airlines Increases Flights to Heathrow

Delta Airlines, a U.S. based airline has announced recently to increase its connectivity to London Heathrow Airport. In the announcement the airline stated that from March 31, 2013 it will fly three times daily between Heathrow airport and its Hub in Atlanta.

During the year 2013, the airline will be further increasing its presence in the UK region with the help of Virgin Atlantic. AS Delta is striking a deal with VA, wherein both the carriers together will fly from several cities in the U.S. to UK 21 times every day.

El Bastian, President for Delta Airlines said in a press conference that this alliance will benefit them in coming at par with their competitors offering flights between U.S. and UK. This partnership will also offer Delta passengers with more flying options.

KLM Uncovers Its New Business Class Layout

All new business class seats soon to be launched by KLM is the latest buzz of the travel sector. After providing with in-depth details about its revamped Business Class seats two weeks back, the airline had now uncovered the layout of the Business Class section.

Evoking the comfort of the home, the all new World Class Business Cabin’s have been designed by Hella Jongerius, an acclaimed designer from Dutch. The designer has used different shades of KLM’s signature color blue, for the upholstery of the cabin.

Fitted in B747-400 aircrafts, the business class seats in the upper deck will reduce from 24 to 20. The final layout in the upper deck of the aircraft will comprise of 2x2 seats of both seats, with 6 sets on the right and 4 sets of the left. While the lower deck will offer 15 seats instead of 18. Seating on this deck offer 5 sets of 2x2 and 3 single seats. KLM has also decided to increase the length of its lie-flat seats to 2.07 meters which is 0.17 meters more than the old seats.

Emirates Offers Ultra Low Fares to Indian Cities from JFK

Emirates offer spring special deals to JFK passengers flying to India. Now they can fly with Emirates to several Indian cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Cochin and Hyderabad at ultra low fares. With this special deal, flights to Indian will cost as low as USD 1286* for a return flight.

To book these cheap flights to India passengers must book their tickets latest by April 19, 2013 for travel until May 13, 2013. These special fares are only valid for non-stop transatlantic flights operated by Emirates. Ticketing must be completed within 74 hours of booking to enjoy this deal. Sunday night stay in mandatory and passengers can extend their stay up to four months.

LCCs continue to grow and expand in Asia

Travelers to Asian cities can expect more cheap flights offerings by various low-cost carriers or LCCs that are increasingly trying to make a dent in the Asian airspace.

Media reports recently quoted a travel expert as saying that low-cost carriers have only made a slight entry into Asia and are yet to harness the potential fully. In the same vein the travel expert was quoted as saying that LCCs need to do even more on this count.

The travel expert was further quoted by media reports as saying that LCCs in Europe like easyJet and Ryanair and also in the United States have already achieved a remarkable success and continues to prove this with even more successes.

According to the travel expert, the success of the LCCs in the final analysis depends on the low airport fees for significant period of time.

The travel expert also said that LCCs are not new to Asia and they had been operating in Asian cities for many years now.

Media reports also indicated that LCCs are a permanent fixture and are flourishing in the Asian markets.

Passengers sans Carryon Baggage Board First On American Airlines

American Airlines is may soon plan to permit travelers without in carry-on luggage to board their flights on a priority basis. The airline plans to board such passengers after boarding its passengers who have bought First Class and Elite Class air tickets.
 
The airline has been testing the success of this program for quit sometime now. And only after it received positive feedback the airline decided that it should go ahead with this plan on all its future flights. The airports chosen for this purpose were Baltimore Washington International Airport, Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, Dulles International Airport and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

Andrea Huguely, spokeswomen for American Airlines said that by testing on this new strategy the airline aims to provide its passengers with exceptional service. She also said that by using innovations like these American has clearly indicated again that their main motto is to provide their passengers with enhanced flying experience every time they fly with American. She also mentioned, the airline will be informing its passengers well in advance of this new boarding plan.

Fly Emirates Business Class with a companion and save

Emirates Airline has recently come up with an exciting offer for those booking business class flights or traveling by first class.
 
The airline is offering its customers opportunity to take advantage of incredible savings on business class tickets and also on first class when traveling from various U.S. destinations to any Emirates destination across the world.

According to the airline, this limited period offer is valid for travel from multiple U.S. cities including Dallas/Fort Worth, New York JFK, Seattle and Washington, D.C.

This offer is applicable to only those customers who purchase two to eight first class or business class tickets. The customers are required to buy their tickets latest by March 31, 2013 in order to avail this offer. The outbound travel on this offer is valid from March 1 through April 30, 2013.

Emirates Airline in a statement said that the discounts would be applicable only on unrestricted First Class and Business Class fares, and should not be combined with any other offer.

SAS Trashes Business Class Section on Its Europe Bound Flights

SAS Group has decided to scrap Business Class section on its Europe flight in favor of the ongoing demand of a low-cost airline. SAS had been facing stiff competition from other discount operators, resulting in not so profitable Business Class flights for them. And it was then that they decided to give away their elite class section and start operating an all low-cost flights.

Taking forward this decision the airline will reinstate a three by three seating plan and will give away three-course meal served to Business Class passengers by a trolley-based food service. Name as EuroClass, the business section offered passengers with more leg spaces, access to their lounge, and other premium in-flight facilities.

Elisabeth Manzi, spokeswomen for SAS Group said that now the passengers are more interested in affordability and time and are ready to give away with luxury, if it saves them on time and money. She furt5her said that Business Class travel was the in-thing way back in the 1980s but now the need of the modern traveler has changed with time. And hence they have decided to go ahead with this new keeping in mind the needs’ and want of their passengers.

Airberlin Flies Nonstop To Warsaw

Airberlin starting March 25, 2013 flies three nonstop flights every week between Berlin and Warsaw. With this new service Airberlin has become the only airline to offer the maximum number of flights between Berlin and Warsaw.

This new route will offer passengers with numerous connections within Europe and across the world. Berlin Brandenburg Airport's CEO, Hartmut Mehdorn said that with this new international flight to Warsaw Tegel Airport has become a much stronger hub for Airberlin. He also said that new connection will definitely make the Polish-German partnership stronger.

Flights from Berlin to Warsaw will operate during Monday to Friday and flights from Warsaw to Berlin fly once on Saturday and twice of Sunday. Airberlin will also be increasing its flights to Krakow from two to three per week.

Flyscoot Introduces Ipads In Lieu Of TVs on Its Flights

Scoot Pte Ltd. a Singapore-based low-cost long-haul airline has made use of Apple's iPads instead on the old fashion in-flight television sets, fixed on the back side of the airline seats headrest and have managed to increase there seating capacity by nearly 40 percent.

Campbell Wilson, CEO for Scoot said that giving away the age old TVs the airline has managed to make its planes 7 percent lighter. He said that by using the iPads we have been able to create more number of seats on each plane, leading to overall reduction in per flight cost. He mentioned that by they will be able to continue offering cheap flights to their passengers without any hindrance, even when other airline might have to increase their air fares due to ongoing price hike in air fuel.

iPads will come pre-loaded with movies, games, music and televisions programs. The airline will be offering these gadgets free of charge to their business class passengers and will be charging $17 per device from their economy class passengers. In the coming days the airline will also provide the facility of Wi-Fi in their planes for the convenience of their valued passengers.

Recaro Seats to Be Fitted On Easyjet Flights

Easyjet declared its plans to fit Recaro seats on its coming aircraft. Recaro seats are lightweight seats weighing nearly 26 percent less that the seats fitted in the other aircrafts of Easyjet. The airline has chosen Recaro SL3510 seat for the same purpose.

EasyJet is also going to fit fuel-saving sharklets to this coming aircraft. Fuel-saving sharklets are a variety of wingtip that will help is saving the air fuel of the aircraft. The airline is also replacing their existing in-flight trolleys with new lightweight trolleys to further reduce the weight of the aircraft. These new trolleys will be introduced in all the aircrafts owed the EasyJet.

Carolyn McCall, CEO Easyjet said that by taking these decisions wisely they will be able to save nearly £2.7 million every year from the bio fuel bill. He also said that by taking these steps they will be able to fly their planes for efficiently and also incur huge saving, which in turn will help them to continue offering cheap flights to their passengers even when air fuel prices are rising high.
