WestJet Airlines recently announced its operational results for December 2012 and was quite euphoric at the outcome. WestJet Airlines flights put up a great performance and reported an increase in its passenger traffic.

The Calgary-based WestJet Airlines in a statement revealed that it reached a record load factor of 81.9 percent in December 2012, up from 80.9 percent in the same period in 2011. The airline also stated that its passenger traffic grew 7.2 percent, while its capacity increased 6 percent.

The airline disclosed that its Q4 load factor was up 3.2 percentage points to 81.9 percent, while its load factor for 2012 increased to 82.8 percent from 79.7 percent in 2011.

Saretsky disclosed that WestJet Airlines will be taking the delivery of its first two Q400 turboprop aircrafts in June 2013 for the launch of WestJet Encore, its new regional airline.
