Malaysia Airlines recently announced it is planning to introduce international flights on new routes in India and China. Ahmad Jauhari Yahya, Malaysia Airlines’ Group Chief Executive Officer, in a statement disclosed that the airline is eying new destinations and is making extensive efforts to begin flight operations, particularly in China and India.
Yahya said that in the regional airline market the national flag carrier was bullish about its growth and quite optimistic. He said that the airline would be offering its customers the right value proposition.
He said that Malaysia Airlines would like to seize the opportunity and take advantage of this amid stiff competition from other airlines as well as low-cost carriers.
Talking about ‘Firefly’, a subsidiary of Malaysia Airlines, Yahya said that its new low-cost arm is planning to operate flights to new routes in south Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia. He said that the operations are expected to start soon in the future.
