by Richa G 15. May 2013 07:26

Travelers from Taiwan will now have more options to book air tickets at competitive rates. Leading Taiwanese carriers recently announced they would be launching direct flights on nine new routes to China.

According to media reports, prominent Taiwanese carriers like China Airlines, EVA Air and TransAsia have said that nine new direct routes would be launched in June this year between Taiwan and China. The airlines want to cash on with the launch of new routes ahead of the summer tourist season.

Media reports quoting officials from these carriers said that with the start of two-month summer vacation and gradual boost in economic growth it has become quite necessary to introduce flights on new routes between the two countries to transport large number of travelers.

China Airlines has indicated that it would launch new flights between Taoyuan and Urumgi starting from June 25. The airline would also be introducing flights on new Taoyuan-Lijiang route from June 26.

EVA Air recently launched direct flights between Taichung and Changsa from May 4. The airline also started operations on Kaohsiung-Jinan route effective from May 1.
