by Richa G 4. June 2013 07:10

Copa Airlines recently announced it is doubling its capacity to Jamaica. The airline’s decision has been welcomed by Tourism Minister Wykeham McNeill.

Dr. McNeill said that doubling of Copa Airlines flights capacity to Jamaica is good news for travelers as this would significantly improve the possibility of more visitors from Latin America being currently served by the airline. Copa Airlines has wide connections in Latin American markets.

Dr. McNeill said that Copa Airlines transported 18,700 passengers from Latin American countries to Jamaica. He said that this was an increase of 50.9 percent as compared to last year.

Copa Airlines has been operating its flights to Kingston, the Jamaican capital, ever since 1969. The airline is currently hoisting its convention in Jamaica for the first time.

Copa Airlines chose Jamaica from among the three other Caribbean Islands to hold its convention for the first time this year.
