by Richa G 1. July 2013 06:25

China’s national carrier Air China recently announced it is planning to operate daily flights between Shanghai and Mumbai. The airline is presently offering services to three destinations in India – Bengaluru, Delhi and Mumbai.

Air China is operating a total of 11 flights every week to the three cities. The airline is operating four flights each to Mumbai and Delhi, while it is offering three flights to Bengaluru.

The airline disclosed that it is planning to increase its flight frequencies to Bengaluru. It is currently operating three flights every week, and has indicated that it wants to add a fourth flight every week on this route from Chengdu.

Air China made this announcement during an event held in Mumbai to celebrate the completion of one year of operations of the airline to Mumbai.

A top official of Air China said that the average load factor on Mumbai-Shanghai route is 85 percent. The airline initially started three flights to Mumbai every week. The growing passenger demand on the route later on prompted the airline to increase frequency to four flights every week.
