China Eastern Airlines has resumed the sale of its flight tickets on Beijing-Naha route. The airline recently announced it has once again revived its direct flights between Beijing and Naha starting from July 3, 2013. The airline had stopped flying on the route following heightened tension and deterioration of relations between Japan and China over the Senkaku Islands issue.
China Eastern Airlines said that it will be offering two roundtrip flights on Beijing-Naha route every week on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
The airline also increased its flights services between Shanghai and Naha. The airline will now operate daily flights on Shanghai-Naha route, instead of the earlier four roundtrip services every week.
With the easing of tensions between Japan and China, the air traffic routes connecting China and Okinawa have started showing signs of improvement. According to reports, the flights between Shanghai and Okinawa are now running at 80 to 90 percent of capacity. Strong demands for plane tickets bookings have also been seen in July and August.
