Cape Air plans to operate daily flight to New York City

by Richa G 18. July 2013 11:11

Cape Air, one of the largest independent regional airlines in the U.S. announced its plan to start daily service to New York City. The airline said it will also launch a ticket office in the city. This decision was taken six-years after the airline launched its Rutland to Boston flights.

The airline is on the lookout for renewing its federal subsidiary for three daily flights on Rutland-Southern Vermont Regional Airport to Boston route along with one round trip to White Plains, N.Y daily.

This service will enable passengers’ to book airline tickets for their journey on the new route without any hassles.

Andrew Bonney, Cape Air Vice President, Planning said that the decision to add a daily flight to New York City is the result of years of airline and community leaders’ considerations and discussions. He further added that the airlines success on the Lebanon service prompted them to experiment on the Rutland-New York City route.

The airline is however, awaiting the approval by the United States Department of Transportation. If they get a green signal from the department they are likely to introduce this service beginning November.
