Austin is super cool

Lady Bird Lake, named after the wife of President Lyndon Johnson is a section of the Colorado River and a top recreational attraction offering facilities for rowing and kayaking. Residential complexes, hotels and cycling and walking trails line the periphery of the lake and connect it to other green spaces in the city like the expansive Zilker Park. Zilker Park is Austin's primary green lung featuring picnic areas, walking trails, a children's playground, volleyball courts, a golfing green, and even a miniature train.

The park also encloses the famous swimming hole, Barton Springs, the Zilker Botanic Garden, the Zilker Hillside Theater, the Austin Nature and Science Center and the Umlauf Sculpture Garden and Museum. Further, the park serves as the host venue for many of the city's year-round music festivals that give Austin the title of 'Live Music Capital of the World.'

San Antonio is a gourmand's delight

Visitors come to San Antonio for its many historical attractions like the Alamo, a fortress in downtown San Antonio immortalized by the battle cry 'Remember the Alamo' during the battle of Alamo of the Texas Revolution era and the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park. Another prominent attraction is the city's famous Riverwalk, a 2.5-mile long walkway that borders the San Antonio River and hosts the city's many gourmet restaurants. San Antonio is renowned for its diverse culinary heritage. The dining landscape in San Antonio is a mélange of Mexican, American, and European cultures owing to the city's rich history which features a period of colonization by the Europeans in the early 19th century. The Europeans introduced spices, flavors, and ingredients from Africa, Asia, and Europe to Texas, and the native cuisine evolved to showcase these flavors. The city's exceptional dining scene has gained international recognition for the UNESCO conferred the City of Gastronomy title on San Antonio in 2015. One of the best places to sample the indigenous foods of San Antonio is at the Pearl, an ancient German brewery that is home to an outpost of the Culinary Institute of America and a bustling food hall.

Houston is hoping

Houston is the fourth-largest city in the US. Aside from being a bustling business hub for industries like Oil and Natural Gas, Technology, Medical research, and health care and petrochemical production, the city also has a thriving art and culture scene.

The city's most prominent attraction is the Lyndon Johnson Space Center that is situated at a distance of 25 miles to the southeast of the city. The center has more than four hundred exhibits and artifacts which include the Starship Gallery, Mission Mars, the NASA Tram Tour, the Astronaut Gallery, Independence Plaza, and the International Space Station Gallery.

For the fiftieth anniversary of the Apollo 11's moon landing in 2019, the Houston Space Center has restored and redesigned the Apollo Mission Control center to make it look it did in 1969 with screens that display the images of the moon landing. It has also installed a new gallery, "Apollo Art: a 50-year retrospective' this explores the various landings of the moon through artworks. Needless to add the Houston Space Center is extremely family-friendly too.

Houston has a thriving museum district, so if visiting museums is your thing you're in for a treat. The Houston Museum of Natural Science, the Houston Museum of African American Culture, the Museum of Fine Arts, the Holocaust Museum, the Contemporary Arts Museum and the Children's Museum of Houston are some of the city's excellent museums.

Houston is bedecked with towering skyscrapers, but the city has many lush green spaces such as Discovery Green, Market Square Park, and Eleanor Tinsley Park, which provide visitors and locals a respite from the hustle and bustle of the city. Houston also has a very vibrant dining and shopping scene and staying true to its roots hosts an annual Live Stock Show and Rodeo every March.

Dallas is Divine

A bustling metropolis in North Texas, Dallas is another commercial and cultural hub of Texas. Immortalized forever thanks to a long-running American TV show, Dallas has much more to offer than just cowboy culture. The city's most prominent attraction is the somber assassination site of President John F Kennedy. A Grassy Knoll emblazoned with a giant X marks exact location of the assassination and the nearby Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza chronicles the life and death of JFK.

The Arts District in downtown Dallas is home to wonderful museums and art spaces such as the Dallas Museum of Art, the Nasher Sculpture Center and the Trammell and Margaret Crow Collection of Asian Art. Visitors with children in tow should pencil in a visit to the Dallas World Aquarium and the Dallas Zoo. You may also want to include a visit to Geo-Deck at the top of the Reunion Tower. The Reunion tower rises to a height of 470 feet and offers a birds-eye view of the city.

Dallas, like various other American cities, also boasts some stunning parks and gardens such as the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden and the sculpture filled Pioneer Plaza in downtown Dallas where the city's cowboy culture is showcased in a cattle drive bronze sculpture.
