British Airways expanding fleet, route network at London City Airport

British Airways recently announced it is expanding its aircraft fleet and route network at London City Airport.

The airline is now officially the largest operator at the London City Airport with the highest number of routes and passengers.

British Airways in a statement said that it will be taking delivery of another Embraer 190 aircraft in the late summer this year, thus bringing the fleet size to a total of 14 aircrafts.

The airline stated that the new aircraft will be used to operate year-round British Airways flights to Venice.

Apart from this, the aircraft will also be used to increase frequency to Glasgow from September.

The airline disclosed that with the launch of flights in September, there will be one extra flight operated per day to Frankfurt and Glasgow.

According to the airline, the launch of flights to Venice will provide even more choice for passengers to take holidays in the gateway to Northern Italy.

British Airways will be serving a total of 22 destinations in the UK, Europe and USA from London City Airport.
