British Airways likely to relaunch flights between London and Colombo next year

Media reports recently said that British Airways flights are likely to be relaunched between London Gatwick and Sri Lanka’s largest city Colombo starting from 2013.

According to the reports British Airways flights tickets would be available for the thrice weekly service from London Gatwick to Colombo via Maldives capital Male. The flights on this route are to be started in March 2013. British Airways flights are likely to be resumed to Sri Lanka after over a 10 year interval.

However, British Airways is yet to confirm its plan or relaunching the flights between London Gatwick and Colombo.
 
The civil aviation authorities in Sri Lanka have already given their approval to British Airways to resume its flights.

Earlier, British Airways had submitted its application for slot clearance before the Sri Lankan civil aviation authorities and which has been approved also.

Presently, SriLankan Airlines operates flights services to London seven times every week.
