British Airways new Bronze Tier benefits to Executive Club frequent fliers

British Airways recently announced that it will re-launch the Executive Club for its frequent fliers by introducing a new ‘Bronze’ card tier. The airline disclosed that the new Bronze tier will significantly narrow the gap between Blue and Silver tiers. According to the airline, the holders of Blue Card will only require just half the Silver threshold level to get promoted to Bronze.

The benefits to be provided the new Bronze card members includes Business Class check-in; seat selection at 7 days before departure; earning a 25% tier bonus, i.e. 1.25 Avios for every mile flown; dedicated telephone number (UK & US); and Bronze tier luggage tags.

Frequent fliers currently start as Blue Card holders and qualify for a Silver Card after collecting 600 tier points, including 4 British Airways flights, and later on move up to a Gold Card upon achieving 1,500 tier points, including 4 British Airways flights.

British Airways stated that the members achieving 300 tier points or 25 single flights – half the number required to achieve Silver Card status – will qualify for the new Bronze Card. However, holders of the Blue Card who have already collected 300 tier points or more will qualify for their new Bronze Card from November 16, 2011.
