British Airways opens new lounge at New York’s Newark airport

British Airways recently unveiled its new lounge at New York’s Newark Liberty International Airport. The new lounge is twice the size of its previous facility.

The airline in a statement said that the new “Galleries-style” lounge is located next to gates B50 -58, from where British Airways flights are now operated.

The new lounge will have seating facilities for 177 guests, with private dining booths for First Class travelers, and self-service dining for Club World customers.

Among other facilities in the lounge includes two Silver Bars and a deli, washrooms with showers, and work and entertainment zones with TVs, newspapers, magazines and free Wi-Fi.

British Airways also disclosed that it has started refurbishing 14 of its 21 B767 aircraft.

The first refurbished aircraft has now started operating on the London-Newark route.

The airline stated that the features of refurbished aircraft includes refurbished sidewalls, bulkheads and toilets, new carpets and curtains, as well as recessed ceilings with larger overhead lockers allowing extra luggage space and new lighting throughout.
