British Airways to launch airline-themed pop-up venue

British Airways recently announced that it will introduce an airline-themed pop-up venue in east London in April this year.

According to the airline, the pop-up venue is being launched to celebrate ‘the best in British talent’ ahead of the 2012 Olympic Games.

British Airways in a statement said that the pop-up venue will be named Flight BA2012, and will comprise a three-in-one art gallery, cinema and dining lounge.

The pop-up venue will be opened on Shoreditch High Street on selected weekdays from April 4-7, 2012.

The visitors at the popup venue will get an opportunity to see a piece of art and watch a short film. Besides, the visitors will also be able to sample an Olympics-inspired British menu, which was created by three people specially selected to take part in the BA Great Britons program.

Frank van der Post, Managing Director of Brands and Customer Experience of British Airways, said that the airline had always wanted to bring the flying experience to the people, allowing guests to preview inflight entertainment, celebratory aircraft livery and onboard menus ahead of the London 2012 Olympic Games.   

Of late, the airline has been taking various initiatives, and seeking to attract passengers to take British Airways flights from worldwide by offering cheap tickets to see the London 2012 Olympic Games.
