Post-Olympics campaign helps British Airways increase its bookings

A post-Olympics campaign has boosted British Airways flights tickets bookings. The airline recently announced that the sale of its air tickets after a campaign run post-Olympics has helped British Airways to increase its traffic by 5.1 percent in September this year.

The airline in a statement said that British Airways flights bookings in its premium segment topped the passenger traffic. According to the airline, the premium traffic in September 2012 increased by 8 percent as compared to the same month last year. The airline further stated that the number of passengers traveling in economy class increased by 4.6 percent.

IAG, the company owning British Airways, stated that the airline had launched a massive promotional activity during and post the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games. This promotional activity culminated in ‘Thank-you Great Britain sale’ ending on September 25, 2012. The company said that the promotional campaign had helped the airline greatly and positively impacted on its volumes in both non-premium and premium cabins.
