Cape Air expands Caribbean service, adds Culebra and Virgin Gorda

Cape Air has announced it will continue to expand its network in the Caribbean. The airline has added new nonstop services to Culebra and Virgin Gorda from San Juan.

Cape Air said that it will start offering four daily flights between San Juan and Culebra starting from December 17, 2013. The airline also said that it will operate nonstop flights between San Juan and Virgin Gorda effective from December 18 this year.

Cape Air will operate nonstop services to these destinations with the help of Britten Norman Islanders aircrafts. The airline has purchased three such aircrafts for the purpose. According to the airline, these aircrafts are specifically suited for these markets as both Culebra and Virgin Gorda have short runways thus limiting their landings at the airports here.

Frequent daily flights are being offered throughout the Caribbean by Cape Air ever since 1998. Cape Air, with its Caribbean hub in San Juan, is presently operating more than 100 daily flights to Nevis, Anguilla, Mayaguez, Vieques, Tortola, St. Croix and St. Thomas, apart from the newly-introduced routes of Culebra and Virgin Gorda.
