Caribbean Airlines may expand to St. Vincent and the Grenadines

Caribbean Airlines, the national airline of Trinidad and Tobago is all set to expand to a new destination. If reports are to be believed then this airline is planning to spread its wings to St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Though the speculation is rife in the market, yet the airline has not confirmed or denied the reports. The silence on this issue hints at a possible expansion to this new sector.

Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves said that Caribbean airline has not formally approached him on the matter. However, he did indicate that the carrier might be treading with caution on this issue though. According to him several inquiries were made regarding the expansion. The airline, which commenced operations in the year 2007, at present, flies to 18 destinations in the Caribbean region and the neighboring countries. It uses a fleet of 23 aircrafts to fly on these routes. Currently its fleet consists of Boeing series planes. Formally, it flew aircrafts from Airbus and Embraer family.

If sources from the Tunapuna-Piarco headquarted airline are true, then certain officials had visited St. Vincent to examine the prospective site. Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is a beautiful island located in the Lesser Antilles of the Caribbean region. Kingstown serves as its capital and main port. The island country shares deep roots and memories of its British and French colonial past. Various travelers visit this isle to have a blissful and fun filled time with their families and loved ones. Some of the most important points of interest here include The St Vincent and the Grenadines Botanic Gardens, La Soufrière, Canouan, and Bequia.
